We know you have a few questions so we’ve taken the liberty to answer the most common of those below.
How could building a website be so cheap?
1. Because of WordPress.
WordPress is an open source (free) software that provides us with the fundamental architectures of a website and allows us to create your website without building it from scratch. With the WordPress software and the expertise of our company, we’ll build your website with your own content, logo (if you have one) and much more.
2. We became an affiliate of the hosting company we’ll use to host your website. This way, we earn a commission from hosting when we set up your site.
Note: Our $97 price point only applies if you don’t have web hosting.
Wondering how much web hosting is going to cost? Around $66 for the year including the cost of your domain name on FatCow. Don’t head over to FatCow just yet though. We’ll send you a link to their site once we start working together.
If you do have web hosting, we can still set up your website, but there will be additional charges – normally $49.99. Please fill in our service request form and we will get back to you with a quote within one business day.
What exactly do I get with my website?
1. Five pages: You’ll be getting five pages on your website. An about page, contact page, home page, and two other pages of your choice. You get to decide what content and images you want on these pages. If you don’t have content or images, not to worry. We’ll set up your template with pages and filler content to be updated at your leisure.
2. Blog: Your website can include a blog page if you desire. With WordPress you can add fresh content to your site regularly and it’s as easy as using Microsoft Word.
3. Contact form: This allows people to contact you without you having to publish your email address and risk being spammed by online programs.
4. Great Design: You get to decide the look of your site. There are tons of free Wordpress themes (what determines the look of your site). You can find them in the Wordpress Themes Directory, or read our blog post on where to find quality WordPress themes.. Have a look and choose one that you like, let us know which theme you have chosen and we’ll put it up for you.
5. Plugins: “Plugins” are helpful software programs that make your site work better for its users. Here are the ones we will install for you:
• Askimat protects you against comment spams
• all-in-one-SEO pack gets you started with search engines
• Google XML sitemap also helps you with search engines
6. A Tutorial where we will guide you through how to maintain your site, put up images, new pages, write posts, etc.
Can I have more pages, a customized theme, or other special features on my site?
The $97 website includes a standard template and, if you have your own logo already already designed, we’ll add that to the template for you. Other than that, you’ll get everything you see on the demo site. We can add other features and customize your website for you for an additional fee. If you have additional requirements, please fill in our service request form and we’ll provide you with a quote within one business day.
Will this be a lot of hassle for me?
No. We are here to make this as painless as it can be. The only things you need to do is get web hosting (we’ll show you how), and choose a theme for your site. This should only take about ten minutes of your time.
If you already have the content and images for the site, send them over and let us know which page to put them on. If not, we’ll put filler copy to start. You can change this copy whenever you’re ready. You will know exactly how to do this after our training session. This means you get your site set up now and we’ll teach you how to manage your content.
How long will the process take?
